“Understand the melodic movement, don’t just imitate the sound.”

Ustaad Muneeb is the founder of Maqamaat with Muneeb Academy, specialising in Tajweed, Qur’anic Maqamat, voice development and practical melodic training. His approach joins classical Qur’anic recitation principles with structured listening, ear training, Visual Melodic Mapping and practical imitation, helping students understand melodic movement rather than simply copying sound.

He teaches students internationally through individual and group programs, and supervises the academy’s wider teaching team and curriculum, so quality stays consistent whoever you learn with.

Our mission

Beautiful recitation, built on correct recitation

Many learners can copy a beautiful voice but not reproduce it with understanding, or add melody before Tajweed is sound. Our mission is to teach both together: correct recitation first, then the melodic modes that carry it, so students recite with confidence and meaning.

Why families choose us

A specialist academy, not a generic template

Tajweed first, always

Melody never comes at the cost of correctness. Every lesson is measured against sound Qur’anic recitation before any Maqam is added.

Understand, don’t imitate

Visual Melodic Mapping lets students see how a Maqam moves, so they reproduce it with understanding rather than guesswork.

A real teaching team

Beyond one-to-one with Ustaad Muneeb, qualified male and female instructors teach under his supervision and curriculum.

Built for anywhere

Live, personal classes online, on a schedule that fits students across time zones and stages of life.

Our approach

How we teach

Assess before we teach

We start by listening to your recitation, so placement and pace match your real level, not a generic curriculum.

Map the melody

Each Maqam’s rise, transition, peak and resolution is mapped visually, then applied inside real verses.

Correct live

You receive personal feedback on Tajweed, pitch and transitions in every session, not just pre-recorded lessons.

In their words

What students and parents say

Finding a qualified female instructor who teaches rigorous Tajweed alongside melodic vocal placement was impossible locally. My instructor provided a deeply respectful, focused environment. My breath control doubled and my Surah Ar-Rahman recitation is unrecognizable.

Limited vocal range ➔ Full breath control & melodic resonance

My 9-year-old son used to find Qur’an class exhausting. The instructors supervised by Ustaad Muneeb took an entirely different approach: patient, structured, and interactive. Zayd’s Makharij are clear now, and he eagerly sits for his 30-minute lesson every day.

Transformation

Disengaged & unsure ➔ Confident Nazra & accurate Makharij

Before joining Ustaad Muneeb, I was imitating recordings without understanding pitch movement or melodic transitions. Through Visual Melodic Mapping, I learned to see the melody before reciting. In just 8 weeks, I led Maghrib prayers in Maqam Bayati with complete poise.
